About NZAG

Who We Are

The New Zealand Association of Gerontology was established as a not-for-profit organisation twenty-five years ago. Regional branches are now situated in Auckland, Waikato, Wellington and Christchurch, with smaller groupings located in Palmerston North and Dunedin. All these groups organise a programme of local activities during the year. The role of National Executive is currently held by Wellington NZAG.

What we do

  • Run regular educational and general interest meetings related to ageing
  • Publish a national newsletter several times yearly
  • Host a national conference on ageing, generally every 2-3 years
  • Encourage and support students interested in ageing
  • Make submissions and provide consultation on age-related health and social issues
  • Participate in international networks through membership of IAGG
